Aerial Filming
Cinematic aerial sequences with large-sensor drones and FPV — from establishing landscapes to high-speed action.
Aerial cinematography for productions that need more than a view.
Open Gate Films plans and captures aerial imagery for commercials, brand films, automotive work, hospitality, real estate, events and broadcast productions in Dubai, across the UAE and internationally. The approach starts with the story, the location and the shot—not with a generic drone package.
Cinema drones, FPV and the right aircraft for the shot
Aerial work can be quiet and considered, or fast, close and kinetic. Large-sensor cinema drones are used when image quality, lens choice and controlled camera movement are the priority. DJI Inspire 3 and Mavic 4 Pro platforms support flexible aerial coverage, while custom FPV cinelifters and compact drone systems are used when the camera needs to move through, around or alongside the action. Each platform is selected around the production brief, operating environment and required deliverables.
Built into the production workflow
Aerial filming works best when it is planned alongside the shoot rather than added at the last minute. Open Gate Films can support location assessment, shot planning, crew coordination, camera movement, safety planning and the practical timing needed to capture aerial plates, moving-vehicle sequences, establishing shots or live-event coverage. For productions that need both ground and aerial coverage, the aerial unit is designed to work within the wider production plan.
From automotive and hospitality to events and broadcast
The team works across a broad range of production environments: controlled automotive shoots, hospitality and real-estate campaigns, cinematic brand work, sports and event coverage, and larger live-production settings. FPV can add a direct, immersive movement to a sequence, while traditional aerial cinematography provides scale, geography and a considered visual language. The combination lets a production move between broad establishing shots and close, dynamic perspectives without losing visual continuity.
UAE flight coordination
Aerial production in the UAE needs more than a flight plan. Every location, aircraft and operating profile is considered against the required permissions, safety controls and production schedule. Open Gate Films coordinates drone permits and flight approvals where required, working with the relevant authorities and on-site stakeholders so that aerial work is planned around the realities of the shoot. Requirements vary by location and project, so timelines and approvals are discussed early.
